Kalaignar Karunanidhi has penned a play called "Udhaya suriyan". Who acted as the hero ?

Kalaignar Karunanidhi himself.

Manorama was the female lead.

These two trivia are from the latest issue of Kumudam.

Incidentally I also learn that Manorama's debut is Kannadasan's Maalaiyitta mangai and Not Konjum Kumari as we had posted earlier. Prakash. please verify and correct.

  • Srini, Manorama made her debut in malayitta mangai ( 1958). konjum kumari ( 1963) is remembered for a different reason. till date, it's the only film in which manorama acts as a heroine.

  • your entry on 21 aug says her debut movie is Konjum kumari, which is what i had asked to be modified.

    Even as heroine she has acted few other movies

    - Alangaari
    - Adhisaya Penn
    - Periya manithan

  • srini, just checked my prev entry. actually i wanted to ask the name of the first movie with manorama as heroine. cuz, its widely known that kannadasan introduced her in his malayitta mangai . its a mistake (: i'll reframe the entry.

    Reg other movies, i wasnt aware. stopped reading kumudam. thanks for the info
