Related trivia : later honnappa bhagavathar entered kannada films and became popular ( atleast for a while.). B.Sarojadevi made her kannada debu opposite him.

Another actor who was pitched against a popular actor was Karunanidhi's son, Mu. Ka. Muthu who was groomed to take on MGR in the early 70's. He never took off and is right now begging in the streets of some obscure TN town.
