  • Aiyo! What a scary trivia! Sivakumar in Sigappu Rojakkal?LOL!
And he rejected because it wont suit his image? Nenappu dhaan - as if he would have performed the role effectively if chosen and only image considerations prevented him!

  • Raj : Sivakumar was right in a way. In the year 1978, Sivakumar was rooling the roost but BR was relatively a newbie who had just given a hit in 16 vayathiniLe.

At a time when he was giving string of hits partnering with Devraj Mohan, Ilayaraja, Panju Arunachalam, R.Selvaraj et al, Sivakumar had reasons to be apprehensive about a character which he cannot connect to. Lets not forget the lukewarm response the film chittukuruvi,a thriller-in-rural-backdrop received. He played the hero with negative shades.

He openly admits in his autobiography, ithu rAjapAttai alla, that even if he had agreed for the proposal, he couldnt have matched kamal's histrionics and doesn't crib about missing the opportunity.

  • icarus,
Glad to know he knew his limitations. But,IMO, Sivakumar is one of the most wooden actors ever in TF. Ofcourse, there are the Jithan Rameshes. Ramarajans, Mike Mohans and Sibirajs. But then let's put it this way - he has the highest luck-to-talent ratio - how many undeserved successes?!!

  • Prakash anna....recall how Sivakumar paired up with Rajinikanth in 'Bhuvana Oru Kelvikuri' and ended up as the villain in the film while Rajini walked away with all the credit. Maybe that affected his decision not to act in SR. Wonder if BOK came before SR or after...
